Back to School Picnic

The YWRC will host the annual Back to School Picnic at Union Park. The Back to School Picnic is for all young women ages 10-21 served by the YWRC. At the Back to School Picnic young women will enjoy food, fun, free carousel rides, and will receive school supplies. To sign up for the Back to School Picnic contact the YWRC at 244-4901- transportation is available on a limited basis.
Volunteers are needed from 1:30-5:30pm to help with all aspects of the picnic including: help pass out school supplies, assist with activities, serve food, and set up and take down. If you would like to volunteer at the Back to School Picnic please contact Christina Jarck at cjarck@ywrc.org.
Celebrity Servers Night

Join the YWRC in this premiere fundraising event! Celebrity Servers Night features local celebrities as servers while their guests enjoy a fabulous dinner at Centro Restaurant in Des Moines. Suku Radia and Nora Everett, co-chairs of this event, will join other local celebrity servers to encourage the guests to leave generous tips, as all tips secured by local celebrities will directly benefit the YWRC. Thanks to Orchestrate Management for providing experienced servers and graciously hosting this event.

Cheers to Young Women Parties (CTYW)
Host a Cheers to Young Women party! Cheers to Young Women parties are held to raise awareness and much needed funds for the YWRC while allowing hostesses to create their own event. Cheers parties are as creative as their hostess and can be as simple or elaborate as they desire. The recommended donation requested from guests is a minimum of $50, but again, it is up to the hostess. A representative from the YWRC can attend the party to share information and stories about the programs and young women served.
Anyone can host a Cheers party! The first Cheers parties held in 2009 & 2010 included a Gingerbread House making party, a couples wine and hor d’oeuvres party, a Grannies Basketball game, Guys Night Out, and many more! In the first year, Cheers parties raised over $13,000 for the YWRC!
