YWRC Book Sale
Save the dates for the spring sale: Thursday, May 21 – Monday, May 25, 2026!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the inaugural sale November 6 – 9, 2025! We are thrilled to have teamed up with Iowa’s Biggest Book Sale to continue the 60+ year community book sale legacy with the YWRC Book Sale!
The spring 2026 YWRC Book Sale will be held at the 4-H Exhibits Building of the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
The sale will be back to full size for the Spring 2026 sale held over Memorial Day Weekend. We’ll have hundreds of thousands of books and media items for you to browse and purchase – all for great prices and a worthy cause.
Proceeds from the YWRC Book Sale will support local girls and young women so they may be strong, self-confident, and resilient. Because of supporters like you, they have the tools and skill sets necessary to overcome adversity, bolster their self-worth, gain key information to have healthy relationships, learn social media safety, receive critical childbirth/postpartum/parenting education, and achieve a life full of possibilities.

More than 120 community volunteers are already committed to celebrating literacy and providing educational support to local girls and young women – join the team! Iowa’s Biggest Book Sale is organizing volunteers for book sorting and upcoming sales. You can learn more about roles and sign-up on their website here.

Saturdays 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Sundays 1 – 4 p.m.
(excluding holiday weekends).
Currently accepted items (in good condition only please):
Books; Cookbooks; Cook’s Illustrated (2020 and newer); Unused Crossword, Word Find, and Sudoku puzzle books; Comic Books and Graphic Novels; DVD/BlueRay movies and TV Series, VHS Tapes, CDs, Vinyl Records/LPs, and CD Audio Books (all must be in the original case); Board Games and Puzzles (in the original box); and Sheet Music; Video Games (disk-type games must be in original box)
