YWRC Book Sale
Save the dates for the spring sale: Thursday, May 21 – Monday, May 25, 2026!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the inaugural sale November 6 – 9, 2025! We are thrilled to have teamed up with Iowa’s Biggest Book Sale to continue the 60+ year community book sale legacy with the YWRC Book Sale!
The spring 2026 YWRC Book Sale will be held Thursday, May 21 – Monday, May 25, 2026 at the 4-H Exhibits Building of the Iowa State Fairgrounds. We’ll have hundreds of thousands of books and media items for you to browse and purchase – all for great prices and a worthy cause.
Proceeds from the YWRC Book Sale will support local girls and young women so they may be strong, self-confident, and resilient. Because of supporters like you, they have the tools and skill sets necessary to overcome adversity, bolster their self-worth, gain key information to have healthy relationships, learn social media safety, receive critical childbirth/postpartum/parenting education, and achieve a life full of possibilities.

Iowa’s Biggest Book Sale: 1901 Bell Avenue, Suite 7, Des Moines, IA 50315
Saturdays 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Sundays 1 – 3 p.m.
Currently accepted items (in good condition only please):
Art books; framed and unframed artwork; cookbooks; Saveur magazines; select cooking magazines from the last two years (click here for details); vintage and collectable books; hardback fiction books with dust jackets; trade and small fiction paperbacks; travel guides, books, and maps; nonfiction books on any topic; children’s and young adult books; Alcoholics Anonymous books; textbooks; unused puzzle, sudoku, and word search books; comic books; graphic novels; DVD and Blu-ray movies and TV series in the original boxes (NO VHS tapes at this time); vinyl records/LPs in the original jackets; CDs in the original cases; laserdiscs in the original jackets; CD audiobooks (no cassette tapes); puzzles and board games in the original boxes; video games (disc-type games in original boxes); video game consoles in working condition; and sheet music

More than 120 community volunteers are already committed to celebrating literacy and providing educational support to local girls and young women – join the team!
