Black Girl Magic
Black Girl Magic is a group for black girls to discover and celebrate their culture and roots. This group explores the ways in which their Blackness shapes life experiences. It’s a place where young women can have a safe space to talk about their resiliency and uplift themselves and each other through the bond of sisterhood.

Every Monday, 4 – 5:30 p.m. at the YWRC
Transportation provided within a 7 mile radius of the YWRC.

Mental Health Counselors provide one-on-one, couples and/or family counseling to young women in schools and at the Young Women’s Resource Center. Counseling services are offered for all young women within the ages of 10-21.
Mariposa, meaning “butterfly,” is a weekly after school group designed exclusively for Latina young women in middle and high schools throughout Des Moines.
During summer programs, girls can come spend time with others in a supportive environment, have fun and learn more about what it means to be a healthy young woman.
