The weekly Young Mom’s Program provides education and support to parenting young women in the community. Peer-to-peer support, education and a full meal and childcare are provided for the evening Young Mom’s groups at the Young Women’s Resource Center.
The Individual Support Program is designed to empower pregnant and parenting young moms to achieve independence through customized support and education.
This eight-week program is designed to help survivors of trauma reconnect with their bodies in a safe and predictable environment.
Connections is an all year long, continuous educational program focused on issues such as anger management and impulse control. Connections is an ongoing therapeutic group.
Licensed Mental Health Counselors provide one-on-one, couples and/or family therapy to young women in schools and at the Young Women’s Resource Center. Therapy services are offered for all young women within the ages of 10-21.
The Young Women’s Resource Center holds weekly after school groups for young women in the Des Moines area in 5th through 12th grades. These groups explore a variety of topics such as body image, self-esteem, reproductive health and healthy relationships. They include hands-on activities, field trips, guest speakers and community service projects.
