New Years Eve 2023 – Letter from Kari.

Happy New Year’s Eve!

Thank you for joining us in solidarity with local girls and young women for another year. Here’s to celebrating the close of 2023 and looking forward to new beginnings in 2024!  At the YWRC, we have had a whirlwind of a year, which has given us the opportunity to refocus, reframe, and repeat.

Throughout the past 45 years, the YWRC has been a place for girls and young women, no matter their background, to form a new toolkit for resiliency, self-confidence, and strength. Through peer-to-peer groups, educational opportunities, and counseling, staff have continued to help more than 1,000 participants each year.

Because of the hard work of our staff and support from community members like you, we’ve been devoting time to thoughtfully and intentionally adjust our programming to increase sustainably and respond to the current needs of participants.

We are setting our quality standards high for this upcoming year, with the goals that 80% or more Empowerment participants gain skills in resiliency and continuing toward 100% of our Young Moms participants graduating high school or earning their diplomas on time (currently this sits at 93% compared to only 50% nationally).

As we enter into our 46th year, it is now that we need our community the most. It is this community that makes the strides toward resiliency possible for our organization and our participants. Reminder – we currently have a generous matching gift available that can double your gift if given by 11:59 tonight.

Will you consider making one final 2023 gift for the girls in young women in our community?

Thank you for continuing to be a champion for local girls and young women. We are grateful to be a part of your community.

Cheers to a New Year!
