Spotlight: YWRC Fall Community Engagement Update

With such a busy fall underway, we wanted to share with you a few updates of completed projects, as well as information for upcoming ways to get involved, all in one place. THANK YOU for being a supporter of the YWRC. YOU are making a difference in the lives of local girls and young women.

Our new Annual Report is out! You can view it on our website here. Included in the Annual Report is information about who we serve, how we serve them, and the impact of our programs. It also includes gratitude sections thanking our generous supporters. This piece serves as a great snapshot of the past year (July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024).

Celebrity Servers Becky Strope-Boggus and Joel Anderson

Celebrity Servers Night was a success! Thank you to the 42 Celebrity Servers who gave their time and talent to host 457 guests on Monday, October 7th at Centro and Django at the Reinhardt Room. You all exceeded our fundraising goal and met our stretch goal of raising $68,000! Thank you also to Presenting Sponsor Orchestrate Hospitality for their continued support these past 15 years. You can see photos from the event here and a highlight reel here.

Special shout out to our top Server teams:

Having access to personal care products are KEY for the young folks we serve. Not only does this help them maintain personal hygiene, but also serves as a base for self-care and feeling proud in how they present themselves. As the weather becomes cooler, participants are increasingly requesting lip balm/chap-stick and lotion.

Menstrual pads with wings, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and dental care items remain at the top of the list all year long. Young Moms participants are also in need of fragrance-free baby wipes and diapers sizes 5, 6, and 7, as well as pull-ups. You can provide these items by shopping our Target Registry and having them shipped directly to us. You can also drop off items in our building entryway Monday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or Fridays 9:00 a.m. – noon.

Save the Date for our YWRC Empower Gala on Saturday, April 26th, 2025! This 26th annual event is our largest fundraiser of the year and directly supports the local girls and young women we serve. In addition to a three-course meal and inspiring program, the evening also includes an awards ceremony honoring YWRC participants and local community leaders. The YWRC Empower Gala committee will begin planning soon! If you are interested in volunteering on this committee, please email Kimberley here.

Thank you for joining us during this busy season, and all year long! We appreciate being part of your community and look forward to continuing to serve local youth with your support.
